One of Guatemala’s most jaw dropping sights…
…and one of the worlds most beautiful lakes.
Aldous Huxley famously wrote about Lake Atitlán: “Lake Como, it seems to me, touches on the limit of permissibly picturesque, but Atitlán is Como with additional embellishments of several immense volcanoes. It really is too much of a good thing”
Also the home of Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s Little Prince: as th
e author journeyed in Guatemala’s Antigua and Atitlán regions he took away much inspiration and symbolism from the lake. The 3 volcanoes that make up The Little Prince’s planet for example. Also the boa that ate the elephant is said to be inspired by the shape of “Cerro de Oro” volcano, at the foot of Atitlán volcano.
Whilst at Eagle’s Retreats, you will be privy to a vantage point over this world beautiful Lake Atitlán that truly augments its essence to a level of magic and awe that becomes hard to articulate with words. It enhances the energy of the lake to a point such that many experience something beyond.
What that means, exactly, is nothing that can be written about. You need to be here and feel it…
